i recently had the opportunity to photograph one of my great friend's new baby. i've known his mama since we were very young, like 2 or 3. it's so amazing to me how new life can instantly calm your soul. just holding him relaxed me :) here's little baby "J" at one week.
his big sis is such a neat little lady! i was lucky enough to be able to hang with miss "M", just the two of us. she's a peach. and just another reminder why your home is the perfect place for photos! kids are so relaxed in their environment. we were just playing and got all of these great shots (plus lots more!!) i've photographed her since she was in her mama's belly, and i think these are the best yet!
you know sometimes you wake up wrong ... grouchy .... that was me this morning. as i lay there not wanting to move, my sweet little harp was cozying with me. he threw his arm around my neck, gently put his hand on my cheek, and said "me want to keep you forever, mama. forever and ever and ever."
he stressed the last 'ever', just like he should. where do kids get these things?
how can this not make someone melt, open their eyes, and smile?! it energizes me, and it always makes me stop and just revel in childhood whenever one of my kids say just the right words at exactly the right moment. it's great ... and then the chaos starts, whining, refusing to sleep at nap time ... and so it is :)
i'm on my macbook today, so these snapshots will have to suffice. we have harp's big birthday party tomorrow, so he's getting all handsome for the big day!!
